Mt. Pleasant has three public schools that are all part of the Maury County Public Schools. In total, the three public schools house about 1,700 students. Mt. Pleasant Elementary School, the Mt. Pleasant Middle School for the Visual and Performing Arts, and Mt. Pleasant High School are all situated near each other in a campus-type location. The Mt. Pleasant Community Center is located in this same area.

The Mt. Pleasant Community is especially proud of its middle school, which features a visual and performing arts based curriculum. The Kids On Stage program encourages children to develop their creative skills as a way of building confidence in themselves and in their ability to succeed at different types of activities. The school is widely recognized in Middle Tennessee for its innovation and unique learning environment. For more information about the program go to http://www.kidsonstagefoundationmaury.org.
