All proposed sites can be served with utilities owned and operated by the city of Mt. Pleasant. The water system obtains water from springs that have been very dependable--even during dry seasons. The city maintains the system and is continually improving and expanding it.
Sewer Facilities
Mt. Pleasant's waste water treatment plant has ample capacity to serve new industry. The city does require industrial pre-treatment for any abnormal waste stream and it must be permitted.
Gas System
Mt. Pleasant Gas System is a gas distribution company owned by the city. It contracts with nationwide distributors for its gas. Natural gas is delivered to the city from the East Tennessee natural gas pipeline lateral which runs through our city. There have been no significant curtailments for local industry.
Electric Service
The Mt. Pleasant Power System obtains its power from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Electrical rates are comparable to those throughout the Tennessee Valley.
Telephone/Fiber Optics
Telephone and fiber optics service is available throughout the Mt. Pleasant/Maury County area and is provided by major companies such as BellSouth, AT&T, Sprint, etc. Charter Communications provides cable television service to the entire Maury County area.
