STREETS / ROADWAYS

Mt. Pleasant is served by major state and federal highways. SR6/US43 bypass is a 4-lane divided highway which passes through the city in a north/south direction and connects to Interstate 65.

RAILROAD

Tennessee Southern Railroad Company is headquartered in Mt. Pleasant and has operated as a "short-line" carrier since 1987. With inter-connect partners CSXT and the port of Florence, Alabama, the Tennessee Southern provides multi-modal transportation. This growing company has the railroad and transloading equipment to serve effectively and quickly. From our terminal in Florence to the port of Mobile, Alabama, using the Tennessee Tombigee Waterway, is only 490 miles.

AIRPORT

With the third longest runway in Middle Tennessee and technologically advanced instrumentation, Maury County Regional Airport can serve virtually all the needs of business and industry. Charter service for passengers and freight, heated hangers, refueling services, car rental and limo services are just a few of the features that helped the airport to win the designation as Tennessee's airport of the year in 1994. Practically all major midwestern and eastern cities are within one to two hours flying time of the Maury County Regional Airport at Mt. Pleasant.

TRUCKING/COMMON CARRIERS

Most major freightlines serve the Mt. Pleasant/Maury County area. These carriers provide this area with all types of service (full truckload, LTL, general commodity, small package services, piggy-back/inter-modal). A local multi-state carrier (Mt. Pleasant Transfer) is headquartered in the city and provides service to most major markets. Mt. Pleasant Transfer is only minutes away from proposed industrial sites. Because of the concentration of trucking-related activities in this area, truckstops and rest areas are readily available and all major highway systems are easy to access from Mt. Pleasant.
