Mt. Pleasant is a community of 4,500 residents conveniently located halfway between Nashville and Huntsville, Alabama. Just one hour south of the Nashville airport and only twenty-five minutes from I-65, Mt. Pleasant offers a unique blend of small town charm with easy access to big city amenities. Proximity to the Nashville metro area also gives residents access to a much larger employment base than most small towns enjoy.
What’s it like living in Mt. Pleasant? The people are friendly; nearly everyone you see will say hello or give you a wave. Neighbors will introduce themselves and invite you to stop by their house or to join them at Sunday church. In the summer, we have free outdoor movies on the parking lot of City Hall and everyone brings their lawn chairs. In the fall, a big part of the town can be found at the high school football field on Friday nights. And we have town festivals in the spring and the fall. On Sundays, the town is very quiet.
Sound a little bit like Mayberry? Well, it is. But, we are also a town that is in the process of remaking itself and moving forward. Several community projects are underway to improve the physical appearance of the town, to re-vitalize our downtown area, and to recruit new business.
Our local schools have improved greatly in the past few years, and the middle school now hosts a unique performing and visual arts program.
Come visit us and find out why we think Mt. Pleasant is a pretty special kind of place !
